assume that p2=x

as p2=3+root3,

then x=3+root3

x +  \frac{1}{x}  =   \frac{ {x }^{2}  + 1}{x}  =  \frac{5 + 4 \sqrt{3}  + 3}{2 +  \sqrt{3} }  =  \frac{4(2 +  \sqrt{3} )}{2 +  \sqrt{3} }
