if u have right angled triangle and you have to find the one side... then name the triangle ABC.

then by using Pythagoras theorem we will find AB so,

(AB)2 = (AC)2 + (BC)2

Pythagoras theorem :

In a right angled triangle, the square of hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the square of of its two oppsite sides.

For e. g ,

in ΔABC,

(AB)^2 = (AC)^2 + (BC)^2

where AB is the hypotenuse ( the longest side of a triangle) and AC and BC are the two opp. sides.

Note:

1)this theorem can only be followed in a right-angled triangle..

2)the two opp. sides always form 90° between them..
