• Cis-platin or tran-platin are co-ordinate complex compounds consisting of platinum as the central metal.

• In this coordination complexes the the electron donating groups are chlorine and ammonia.

• IUPAC name for cis-platin is: Diamminedichloroplatinum.

We can see that the empty orbitals of Platinum are accepting electrons from the the electron donors like ammonia and chlorine to form co-ordination bonds.
