A plant press can be defined as a tool which is used by botanist to store the dry samples of plants.  

Explanation:

Botanists have made plant presses to store biological specimens to prepare specific herbarium with a normal maximum size of 12" x 18".  

Plant press allows the flower to press which make it flat and dry within certain time period. The specimens obtained from the plant press are then picked and stored in herbarium along with their labels.  

A plant press is consist of two solid carboard placed opposite to each other which are further attached with straps to provide stress to the plant sample. layer of paper sheets, absorbent paper and corrugated cardboard are place between cardboards. Plant or fruit samples are kept over paper sheets where layers of absorbent paper and corrugated cardboard are used to dry the samples quickly and helps to retain the colour of sample.
