Given :

Volume of NaOH = 100 ml

Weight of NaOH = 0.4 g

To find :

The normality of the solution .

Solution :

Normality of a solution = ( n-factor * weight * 1000 ) / ( Molar mass * Volume )

Now ,

n-factor of NaOH = 1

The molar mass of NaOH = 40 gmol^{-1}

Normality = ( 1 * 0.4 * 1000 ) / ( 40 * 100 )

=> Normality = 0.1 N

The normality of the solution is 0.1 N .
