• Waste are the things that are not wanted especially what remains after one has used something.

• The main aim of waste segregation is to use it for benefits of the nature.

• Dry waste can be recycled and can be used in future.

• For example :- Newspapers and juice cans could be recycled.

• Wet waste contains organic matter which can be processed and used as fertilizer for soil.

• The waste is seperated because dry waste is easier to be processed than wet waste.

• If wet waste is buried in landfills with dry waste it will not make the land as Fertile as the landfill with only wet waste.

• Knowing the Importance of waste segregation, Government has taken up many projects to promote waste segregation.

Therefore dry waste and wet waste should be seperated.

★ उत्तर- प्रत्यक घरात ओला व सुका कचरा वेगवेळा ठेवा असे सांगितले जाते कारण ओल्या कचऱ्याचे नैसर्गिकरित्या विघटन होते.ओल्या कचऱ्यापासून कंपोस्ट खत बनविता येते. त्याचबरोबर सुका कचरा हा रद्दीवाला किंवा भंगारवाला घेऊन जातो.सुक्या कचऱ्याचा पुन्हा वापर करता येतो.ओला कचरा व सुका कचरा वेगवेगळा ठेवला तर त्याचे व्यवस्थापन करणे सोपे जाते. कचरा व्यवस्थापनाची समस्या कमी करण्यासाठी व त्यापासून संपत्ती मिळविण्यासाठी ओला व सुका कचरा वेगवेगळा ठेवा असे सांगितले जाते.
