So father's age is 4x

According to question,

$4x + 6 = 2.5(x + 6)+ 6 \\ = > 4x = 2.5x + 15 \\ = > 1.5x = 15 \\ = > x = \frac{15}{1.5} = 10$

Hence the current age of son is 10 years and father is 10×4=40 years
