Paddy is a kharif crop which requires huge amount of water and grows under some particular climatic conditions. If it is grown in winter season:

• It cannot grow well as the winter rainfall won't give the sufficient amount of water required by the crop

• The temperatures will be very low which is not suitable for the growth of the crop.

Paddy is a crop that grows in summer and rainy season. It is kharif crop and requires warm temperature and sufficient amount of water for its growth so due to these reason it cannot be sown in winter season as winter season does not provide these circumstances.
