This is the way I’d do it.

To find the molar mass, you simply add the molar masses of all the atoms.  

First let’s count the atoms  

We see 2 carbons, 4 hydrogens and 2 oxygens. All of this makes up CH3COOH  

Molar mass of Hydrogen = 1 g/mol  

Molar mass of Oxygen = 16 g/mol  

Molar mass of Carbon = 12g/mol  

Now molar mass of CH3COOH would be = (molar mass of carbon x 2) + (molar mass of hydrogen x 4) + (molar mass of oxygen x 16)  

= (12 x 2) + ( 1 x 4) + (16 x 2)  

= 24 + 4 + 32  

=60 g/mol approximately
