Answer:

x= 3/7  and y= 50/7

Step-by-step explanation:

x+2y=8 and 2x-3y=13--------------(1)

x+2y=8

x=8-2y------------------------(2)

PUT eq(2) in eq(1) :-

2(8-2y)-3y=13

16-4y-3y=13

-7y=-3

y=3/7

then x=50/7

Answer:

x+2y = 8 multiply by 2

2x + 4y = 16 ---> 1

2x - 3y = 13 ---> 2

solving 1 & 2

2x + 4y = 16

2x - 3y = 13

- + -

-------------

7y = 3

y = 3/7

substitute y=3/7 in equation 1

x + 2y = 8

x + 2(3/7) = 8

x + 6/7 = 8

x = 8 - 6/7

x = 56 - 6/7

x = 50/7
