Paheli say her mother puts ladyfinger and other vegetables in water if they are somewhat dry she wants to know how water enters into them

Water enters into the vegetables through osmosis.

When they are kept in water then the concentration of water is high in the vessel then the vegetables so the the water gets inside the vegetables via the cell membrane into the cells.

This process is called osmosis.
