Materials required:

Alum

Tub

Muslin cloth

Gas stove

Thread

Pan and lid

Method:

Put the muddy water in a tub and let it settle for some time. The dirt will settle down at the bottom of the tub.

Boil the water on a gas stove for at least 20 minutes to kill any bacteria or viruses present in the water.

Add a pinch of alum to the boiled water and stir it well. Alum is a flocculating agent which will cause the dirt particles to clump together and settle down
