Pain felt release of hand during palpation is a positive sign for rebound tenderness called as Blumberg’s sign.
It is generated by palpating slowly and deeply over a viscus and suddenly releasing the palpating hand.
If this rebound tenderness id positive then the patient experiences pain. It is used commonly for the physical examination of a patient of appendicitis.
