◆Sometimes I wonder if women are the biggest enemies of women (in India). I would like to quote an example which I am sure is quite common in many of our Indian homes. A mother who has a daughter and a son shows difference in the way she brings them up. Most of the times the guy ends up having an upper hand in everything. I’m not saying that mothers don’t like their children. (I’m also not saying that the brought up solely depends on the mother) It is just that the son and the daughter are constantly conditioned in a stereotypical way. It doesn’t end here. The mother goes on and tries to show authority on her
◆And this isn't just a one off instance. There are many many such ‘enlightening’ examples. Also, shockingly, its not just the older generation who has a problem with "today's" women. One day a friend of mine uploaded a pic on Facebook in which she wore a "very-modern" dress according to the sacred rule-book 'Dressing Standards of Indian women'. Another (lady) friend of mine with whom I had numerous conversations related to similar topics like Indian women and who always seemed to promote 'women empowerment' calls up and says "I think she's changed a lot( with a disapprovingly negative tone ). And that's a little too much. Freedom doesn't mean you do whatever u want." Wow again !!!
◆ First of all, I think she was looking hot ;) Second of all, she's wearing a (not-so-mini) skirt and I don't think its too much by any standards. Third, its none of our business to comment on anyone's manners or character just by looking at their dress. It's the way she likes to be. As long as the person has no problem who are we to question/judge?
