First equation: 2x +3y = 8 ---> ( i )

Second equation : x + 2y = 0

Now, multiplying 2nd equation by ( 2),

2×( x + 2y ) = 0

2x + 4y = 0 ---> ( ii )

Subtracting ( i ) and ( ii ) Equations,

2x + 3y - 2x - 4y = 8 - 0

-y = 8

y = - 8

Putting value of 'y' in equation ( i ),

2x + 3( - 8 ) = 8

2x = 8 + 24

x = 32/2 = 16

x = 16

 \fbox{x\:=\:16\:and\:y\:=\:-8}

Answer:

(2x+3y=8)1

(x+2y=0)2

By elimination method

=2x+3y=8

 2x+4y=0.   (Change the sign(+ )to(-) and (-) to (+)

--------------------

      y=8

Substitute y=8 in x+2y=0

=x+2×8=0

=x+16=0

=x= -16

-------------

Thank you
