(a) Here the given pairs are 35 × 65 , 34 × 66

Sum of each pair = 100

Now

For 35 × 65 the difference

= 65 - 35

= 30

For 34 × 66 the difference

= 66 - 34

= 32

Since 32 > 30

So 34 × 66 is greater 35 × 6

(b) Here the given pairs are 112 × 88 , 114 × 86

Sum of each pair = 200

Now

For 112 × 88 the difference

= 112 - 88

= 24

For 114 × 86 the difference

= 114 - 86

= 28

Since 28 > 24

So 114 × 86 is greater 112 × 88
