  1. Palampur is a hypothetical village where agriculture is the main production activity. Moreover, dairy farming, small scale manufacturing, transportation and shopkeeping are the other production/non farming activities.
  2. Palampur is a well connected with neighbouring villages and towns with all weather Road.It is a developed village with schools, health centres and bus stand.
  3. there are four requirements for production of goods and services that is land,labour, physical capital and human capital.These are known as factors of production.
  4. human capital is the knowledge and Enterprise requirement to put together all the inputs to produce the outputs.
  5. production activities are successful only when all the above factors of production are organised through proper use of human capital which is the most important factor.
  6. 70% of The villages in Palampur are dependent on farming for their livelihood most farmers employee multiple cropping by growing Jowar and bajra during the kharif season,wheat during the Ravi season and vegetables in between the two Seasons some farmers also grow sugarcane which is an annual crop.
  7. in India farmers of Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh were first to try out the modern methods of farming.
  8. the green revolution was possible by using modern farming method that is HYV seeds, chemical fertilizers, pesticides, plenty of water and mechanized equipment of ploughing and harvesting.
  9. many villages work on farms of the rich farmers or take up other occupations during the lean season.
  10. modern farming methods require a large amount of capital, small farmers are thus compelled to borrow money from large farmers, money lenders or traders at a very high interest rate as they do not have any savings.
  11. medium and large farmers can sell their surplus production in the market, using the money earned as capital in the next season.
  12. Dairy is a profitable non farming activity employed by some families in the village . they sell the milk produced in the big village nearby.
  13. small scale manufacturing like jaggery production involving simple production method is done by some people in the village.
  14. shopkeeping ,computer education and transportation of goods are also done by some people in the village successfully.
