Hey dear,
● Obtaining diesel, petrol & kerosene from petroleum -
- Separation of different components of petroleum is done by fractional distillation.
- Petroleum (crude oil) is heated with continuously increasing temperature.
- Low boiling liquids change into vapor first and then condense.
- Petrol boils at 150°C, kerosene at 200°C & diesel boils at 300°C & fuel oil at 370°C.
- These are collected accordingly in separate vessels.
