The answer is true.

Pandit Nehru played any active role in contributing towards improving Sino-Indian relations. He made an earnest effort in enhancing relationships with China for seven years from 1949 to 1955. With mutual support, he strengthened the Sino-Indian relations in various areas of regional, national and international importance.

Unfortunately, the relationship did not last long and the two countries fought an intense border war for a month in 1962. This put an end to both Sino-Indian relations and the commitment Nehru had towards Asian internationalism.
