There lived a rich merchant in a village. He used to deal in cotton. He brought it from the farmers and stored it in the open compound of his house. He was sure no thieves would steal the cotton. So left it unguarded at night. Some person passing by that house noticed the heap of cotton lying in its compound. They found no man near it. An evil idea occurred to them. They thought of stealing the cotton. At night they entered the compound. They filled their sacks with cotton and went away unseen by any one. When it was day, the merchant noticed the theft. He called together all his relatives, but in vain. He lost all hope of recovering the cotton. One of his friends thought over the matter and prepares a plan to find out the thieves. He asked the merchant to arrange a big feast and invite as many guests as possible.
