Answer:

sum of observation / total observation = Average

sum of observations / 24 = 25

sum of observation = 24 × 25

= 600

Average = sum of observation + 24.5 + 27 + 23.5 / 27

= 600 + 24.5 + 27+ 23.5 /27

=675 / 27

= 25

Answer:

The new average is again 25 after addition of three new observations.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

The average of 24 observations = 25

New added observations = 24.5 , 27 , 23.5

To Find :

Average after addition of new observations

Solution :

Since the average of 24 observations = 25

then the sum of 24 observations = average x number of observations

                                                      = 25 x 24

                                                      = 600

the sum after addition of new observations = 600 + 24.5 + 27 + 23.5

                                                                         =  675

Now total number of observations = 24 + 3 = 27

Then the average of 27 observations = \frac{675}{27}

                                                              = 25

Now the new average is 25
