The annual school sports day is celebrated in our school with great preparations. This day gives us a great pleasure. We are full of joy on that day. The 4 November was our sports day this year.

Sports day is also important as it instigates the significance of physical exercise in the student. It is important for a child to play some sport. Playing a sport regularly keeps children fit forever. Physical activities also increase metabolic activities which are good for our health.the date of the annual sports day is announced much in advance for students to have ample time to practice. There are various games that are played and several events take place.
Last week, our school also organized its annual sports day. The preparations for this day started weeks before. Most students gave their names for different events. Practices went on in full swing. Children, who did not participate in any events, got other duties such as making relevant charts, making lists of games and participants etc.
The grounds were also very particularly laid down; white chalk powder lines were drawn for different events. Victory stands were beautifully decorated to make the victors feel proud of being there after the events.
Few events happened before the sports day such as volleyball, football, tennis and badminton tournaments. Finally, on the annual sports day, students came smartly dressed in white with white sports shoes. The function began with flag hoisting by the chief guest. The guest spoke on the importance of sports and sports day and declared the opening of the function. Then the events started.

Parents and guardians of the children were also invited to encourage all participants.one at a time the events took place in a well-disciplined manner. Various events such as races, short-put, discus throw, gymnastics, pyramids, long and high jumps, etc happened one after another. It was a pleasure to see children perform with great energy and enthusiasm.
The winners were listed and made to stand on the victory stand and cheered by one and all. the games and sports last for concerning three hours and so come the foremost interesting a part of the function – the moment of appreciating the winners by awarding those gifts and prizes, cups and shields.

This was the moment of pleasure for winners. With loud clapping and shouting of cheers, they Not their rewards from the Chief Guest. Being a sports fan myself, I just love sports day and look forward to it through the year. I love to see my friends and others participating in high spirits.
The thrill, the excitement and then the pleasure of winning are all moments worth Seeing and enjoying. Not everyone can win but it is good to see the deserving winners. We must take sports with a healthy sportsman spirit. The objective of the annual sports day is to bring out the talents and sportsman spirit of all the students.
Many children did not participate this year. But somewhere deep inside their hearts, they desired to be the ones like them. With this desire, surely some students will take an initiative to learn and be a part of some of the other sport. The annual day thus solved its purpose.
