Child marriage is the formal marriage of children who are below 18 years of age. The Indian laws prohibits marriages where either the girl below 18 years of age or the boy has not attained 21 years of age.

•It is a process of marrying a girl child below eighteen years to a adult man.
•It is not accepted by the government and made a rule that is a girl should marry after 18 years and a boy should marry after 21 years.
•These marriages are taken place due to some reasons such as:
- Poverty
- Lack of education
- Lower status of women
•To eradicate these marriages , Government has passed and act that is "CHILD MARRIAGE RESTRAINT ACT" in 1929.
• The aim of the act is to completely remove the child marriage, and to protect the health and life of a child.
