paragraph based questions:
a)The spontaneous movement of substance like solid, liquid or gas from a region of
higher concentration to a region of its lower concentration is called diffusion. For
example carbon dioxide accumulates in higher concentration inside the cell and it's
concentration is less compared to inside the cell. Due to difference in concentration the
carbon dioxide moves out of the cell by the process of diffusion. A similar process of
osmosis can be seen in a cell placed in solution of different concentrations
Now answer the following questions
Q30. What is di diffusion(1)
Q31. What is isotonic solution?(1)
Q32 Why the rough endoplasmic reticulum are called so?(1)
Q33 Write the name of membrane through which osmosis and diffusion take place in
the cell(1)

1. Diffusion is the movement of a substance from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration.
2. Two solutions having the same osmotic pressure across a semipermeable membrane is referred to as an isotonic solution
3. It is called 'rough' endoplasmic reticulum because it is studded on its outer surface (the surface in contact with the cytosol) with ribosomes. .
4. semipermeable membranes
