Man and trees have had an enduring relationship since time immemorial. Trees like the peepul and banyan have provided shelter to travellers when they undertook long journeys on foot or horseback. After resting in the shade provided by these trees, travellers moved on with renewed energy.
Thanks to trees, we get seasonal rainfall. Afforestation is, therefore, a measure taken by modern man to plant trees in order to attract rainfall. Trees provide us the invaluable oxygen that we breathe in order to survive, thanks to their photosynthesis.
Man has brought many trees into his home or his neighbourhood and, today, he eats the fruits that they bear for him. Trees in the forests provide firewood. Man also makes his furniture by felling certain trees.

A paragraph on 'Man and Trees':

Humans are dependent on trees. We consider them as our close friend without which we cannot live. Trees provide unconditional love for humans. We are closely related to each other. They are the major rain attraction sources.

They supply us with oxygen and absorb Carbon di-oxide which is considered to be dangerous. It provides us fruits, herbs, raisins, medicines, and even shelter.

But we merciless humans cut them down recklessly to build towns. We make use of it to build furniture, paper from the wood pulp, gum, fibres etc. Industrialisation has led to the removal of our precious trees. Due to this, our ecological balance is getting disturbed.

We need trees more than they need us to maintain the ecology of our earth.
