Discipline is a must in the life of a student. It is one of the major characteristics that a student need to possess in order to live a better academic life and to gain more from academics. If a student does not remain in discipline, he might not be able to achieve the fullest from his academic life.

Discipline plays a major role in the life of a student and it has been pointed out since times immemorial that a student must possess discipline, calm nature and patience.

Academic life without discipline is bound to remain mediocre and face many challenges. Academic life is full of responsibilities such as reaching school in time, wearing neat and clean uniform, listening to teachers attentively, doing the assignments, homework, projects, etc. in time. Performing excellently in tests, terminal exams, and final exams. These responsibilities can be carried out well only if one is disciplined.  

Discipline is the first and foremost thing for a student. No student can achieve academic brilliance without discipline. Only a disciplined student will be able to cope up with the challenges of education. Only a disciplined student can manage his time optimally. He utilizes his free time in studies only that make him brilliant in his subjects as well as other areas. As water and sunlight are essential for the healthy growth and development of plants, similarly discipline is the key ingredient in a student’s life. Discipline and time-management are indispensable for students.

In conclusion it can be said that discipline must be made essential part of curriculum.
