A Place that I Visited Last Week

Last week, I visited Kufri with my family. This experience was really beautiful and memorable.

The drive from Shimla to Kufri was breathtakingly beautiful. On one side of the serpentine road, was the rising mountain range and on the other side, was the awe-inspiring photogenic sylvan beauty. A treat to the eyes indeed! The woody and shady dells with green slopes, the pastoral human settlements, and the sight of sheep grazing on the mountain slopes under the bright blue sky – seeing them together made me feel as if I was travelling through a painting or someone’s vivid imagination. The hues of colour all around formed the most enthralling views that one can see. Throughout the drive I kept clicking pictures with my DSLR camera. As we approached Kufri, the mountains became taller and the view turned from breathtaking to magnificent. What more does a photographer want?!

My family and I checked into a hotel nestled in the beauty of nature. From my room, I could see the distant snow clad mountains. The night sky looked beautiful – black, clear and a spreadsheet of twinkling stars. Watching the sun rise the next morning was another memorable moment for me. Set for the day we did so many fun activities. We climbed the Mahusa Peak on horseback followed by skiing on the snow covered slopes. The next stop was Kufri Fun World were we enjoyed to the fullest.

While sightseeing, we even tried the local cuisine. The Himachal cuisine was finger-licking good. My favourite was the Channa Madra. The rest of our stay was very relaxing and refreshing. Though our trip was a small one, it is etched in my heart forever as those incredible scenic views are still and will remain fresh in my mind forever.
