Coronavirus or COVID-19 is a global pandemic which first made its appearance in China around 31st December 2019. It rapidly spread to other parts of China (like Wuhan) and eventually made its way out of China, entering the global phase. This virus is caused by bats. Chinese people, who eat bats, thus were the first to be affected. This is the reason why people mockingly also call it the 'Chinese Virus'. It causes a respiratory problem in the affected person. The person suffers from breathless, common cold, sore throat and tiredness. Though most of the people recover from it, in some cases it can be fatal. As of now, the global fatality rate due to coronavirus is around 6%, which started at a mere 2%. Many countries, in order to contain the spread of COVID-19 have been or are on lock down. Some countries have also experienced curfews. This virus is more deadly than others in 2 ways - One, since it is a relatively newly discovered virus, there is no vaccine. Another reason is that the symptoms son't automatically show up the next day. They can up to 2 weeks to show up. This virus, though does not spread form air, is still very infectious and highly communicable. Recent studies have shown that though it does not have a virus, it has shown that convalescent plasma therapy to treat the novel Coronavirus infection have been effective in many parts of the world including India. The number one precaution, though, still remains to wash your hands properly and change clothes when go out and finally, socially distance yourself from people.
