Cowards Die Many Times Before Their Death
Points: Introduction – A coward is afraid of everything – No danger frightens a brave person – Conclusion.
A coward is one who is afraid of danger and runs away from it. But a valiant person, on the other hand, is one who is never afraid of any danger, but, on the contrary, faces it boldly and squarely.
A coward is called a chicken-hearted person, because, like the chickens, he is afraid of anything and everything. When there is any sign of danger, his heart fails and he runs away without waiting to see whether there is actually any danger at all. If, while walking along the road in the night, he finds something lying across it, he will take it to be a poisonous snake and will run as far as his legs can carry him. But it may be actually a piece of rope. Thus, though he does not die physically, he dies morally. In this way he dies many times before he actually dies and departs from the world for ever. The case of a valiant or brave person is quite different. No danger or difficulty can ever frighten him. He takes all dangers and difficulties as presentations from nature and faces them boldly. He knows that in this rude battle of life he is to take the bull by the horns. He feels that his manliness consists in defying the odds of life and defeating them. So he is not afraid of anything and everything as a timid or cowardly person is and when his death comes, he disappears from this world both physically and morally. Death cannot come to him as and when it pleases as in the case of a coward; it comes to him only once.
From the above remarks it is now perfectly clear that cowards die many times before their death, but the valiant never taste of death but once.
