Explanation:
Happy Memories
What would we do if the Lord above did not give us this great facility called memory? Memories are a beautiful place to return to in. trying times, in lonely times or even in happy times. Memories of your past keep you grounded. Needless to say, Happy Memories work as healers and help us be grateful for what we have.Think of a person who is born with sight only to lose it when he grows older. He would keep those happy memories, of the days that he could see as well as all that he saw, in his mind forever. It would give him great pleasure to imagine all that he saw and experienced. More often than not, sad and disturbing memories are repressed by our brain as a defense mechanism; it is only happy things we like to remember. The times you spend with your parents and grandparents are etched in your memory and remain with you forever, even after they are gone. The best thing about Happy Memories is that nobody can take them away from you, you can go back to them when you want to and come back rejuvenated and refreshed!
Cameras can capture moments in your life but your mind can capture everything you want it to capture. So, stay happy and keep collecting happy memories from this day on.

On holiday, I was sitting in my room after finishing my homework. As my friends were away to hill stations, I was feeling very lonely. I watched the cars and other vehicles passing by and wished that like my friends, I would also have been traveling or passing my time. While my mind was occupied with thoughts of holiday and having fun with my friends, the doorbell rang. I ran to answer it and found the postman with a parcel and a letter for me.
I signed the paper and took the parcel. My hands were itching to open the packet out of intense curiosity. I ripped off the parcel open and found a beautiful tape recorder in it. The parcel has been sent from Texas and the letter along with it was from my uncle who had sent me a wonderful gift.
However, even more, exciting than receiving the tape recorder was the letter which my uncle had written. The letter was an invitation to go to Texas to spend my rest of the holidays. My uncle had arranged everything for me the tickets and the visa. I already had a passport. My heart skipped several beats as I ran to give this great news to my mother.
She was taken aback initially and her first reaction was not so positive. However, she thought over it, consulted my father who was in his office and they both agreed to allow me to go to the United States to spend the rest of my holidays with my uncle.
Since I had not expected any such thing to happen to me, and I had been feeling sorry for myself, this offer came as a great surprise. This was indeed the happiest day of my life and I don’t think I shall ever forget it as long as I live.
