The frog in the poem is actually insensitive and boastful. He has no talent but thinks himself to be the best. When the nightingale comes he is jealous of her. He wants to remain the undisputed singer of the bog so he fools the nightingale. He pretends to be the owner of the tree and a music critic who wrote for 'Bog Trumpet'. The nightingale has true talent. But she gets fooled by the frog. She thinks that he is a great master of music and gives in to his tutelage. Thus she is exploited by the frog and ultimately dies. So always be aware of your own talent and never allow yourself to be fooled by false people.
