Guest birds in Bangladesh

Bangladesh has many water bodies, so migratory birds visit the place during winter in search of food and warmth. They are referred to as the guest birds in Bangladesh. Most of these birds( ducks, cranes, etc.) migrate from the Northern parts of the world such as Canada, Russia, the United States, and many more.

These birds have a specific migration pattern. Some of them also visit the country from Siberia, Tibetan plateau and Mongolia. The largest number of guest birds can be found in the Haor areas. A common visitor is the Grey Bushchat. Teal, Common Shelduck, Wigeon are also common. The uncommon visitors are the Tufted Pochard and the Asian Dowitcher.
