Hindus have to be patient in their religion to achieve their peacefulness. Hindus are also known to be very friendly. Having such characteristics would greatly empower our whole society no matter what religion someone is from. My interviewee Tony Khanna, a fellow co-worker, took me to his temple he goes to worship, on a Sunday evening. He took me to the Sri Meenakshi Devasthanam located in Pearland, Texas. The first thing I noticed upon arrival at the temple is the beautiful architectural building design outside.

Explanation:

According to the Hindu view, there are four goals of life on earth, and each human being should desire all four. Everyone should strive for dharma or righteous living; artha, or wealth obtained via the pursuit of a profession; kama, or human and sexual love; and, finally, moksha, or spiritual salvation.

This holistic perspective is reflected as well as in the artistic production of India. Although a Hindu temple stands faithful to the glory of a deity and is aimed at supporting the devotee toward moksha, its walls might justifiably include sculptures that reflect the other three objectives of life. It is in such a context that we may best understand the many sensuous and secular themes that decorate the borders of Indian temples.

Hinduism is a religion that had no single originator, no single spokesman, and no single prophet. Its sources are mixed and complex. One strand can be traced back to the sacred Sanskrit literature of the Aryans, the Vedas, which consist of hymns in honor of deities who were often personifications of the natural elements. Another strand drew on the beliefs prevailing among groups of indigenous peoples, particularly the faith in the power of the mother goddess and the effectiveness of fertility symbols. Hinduism, in the form identical to its present-day expression, emerged at about the beginning of the Christian era, with an intensity on the superiority of the god Vishnu, the god Shiva, and the goddess Shakti (literally, “Power”).
