Answer:

Hope this help you mark me as briallist if you like to

Explanation:

Since it is through education and subsequent employment that the children from the slums can break the cycle of poverty, we provide children from the 17 slums we work in and from Tughlakabad Village, access to Pre School and then Primary & Secondary Education in the following  schools:

Deepalaya, Sanatam Dharam Vidhya Bhavan, Gyan Mandir, Modern Savitri Public School, Shyama Prasad Vidyalaya, Delhi Tamil Education Association, Vijay Modern Public School, Sant Nirankari Public School, Ram Krishana Saraswati Vidhya Niketan.

Their education is sponsored by Corporates, PSU’s and Individuals who fund the school tuition fee, as also the private tuition to complement and sustain the learning from school, as well as school transportation to ensure that the children attend the school regularly; we also provide summer and winter school uniforms. Students are required to buy their text books and stationery themselves.  Our School Bus is donated by Engineers India Ltd. (2011)

Initially, it was hard to persuade the parents to send their children to school, since their meager earnings through petty household work added to the family kitty. However, our counselors ultimately succeeded in persuading these poor illiterate parents of the long-term benefit of education.

After school the students are helped with their homework and class tests in our ‘Bridging School’ (our Play/Pre School in Kalkaji doubles up as our Bridging School). National Service Scheme (NSS) student volunteers from nearby colleges – like Lady Sri Ram College, East of Kailash, New Delhi and Class XI students from Greenfields School, East of Kailash, New Delhi, Amity School & University, Jamia University, IIIT Delhi – also assist with our remedial teaching.

There is still a waiting list of over 600 children keen on going to school from our catchment area. Your help is needed in giving a slum child a future through education!
