All the local news is transmitted only through gossip and social gatherings, and loses its credibility and relevance. Updates on sports events are only possible through the TV. Any changes in prices of various goods are only known after visiting a store.

Importance of newspapers:

The importance of newspapers is very high to ignore. Newspapers are our own personal connections to various parts of the world. We are kept informed about any local events or incidents that have taken place. It ensures that the people know about the workings of the governments.

The various policies, decisions and appointments of the government are discussed and debated in newspapers so that we recognize the relevance or futility of those decisions and policies. Internationally, the societal structures, government misgivings and significant events of different countries keep us informed about the functioning of the world and the impact it could have on our own society.

The functioning and important decisions of various companies that could affect us as consumers are easily known through newspapers. An important part of our daily entertainment is sports. Newspapers allow us to keep ourselves abreast with the latest results, upcoming fixtures or even live events of any sports, be it cricket, football, tennis or even golf. Other than all these news stories, newspapers also run opinion pieces where eminent persons and experts give their opinion on various events and incidents which helps in shaping our understanding of the society and its governance.
