if there are limits to democracy the by definition the people do not consent to it and it is simply an oligarchy with varying degrees of privilege

the limit of democracy they are two fold

1. national sovereignty since the people only rule their own nation

2. self limitation where by the people of the state limit the power of its government and refrains from over ruling it .
