So many things in so many ways it is hard to say that any one thing dominates. I am continually surprised by nature. I spend a lot of time backpacking in the mountains above 8000 feet of elevation and in that area I have seen some wondrous things: Fog descending from mountain passes bringing snow and thunder, frozen waterfalls, multicolored crystalline reflections of moonlight off the snow at night, ferns growing in a protected moist crack in solid granite at 11,000 feet elevation, whole sections of forest literally blown over by a 200 mph+ microburst during a storm, just to name a few. Nature never ceases to amaze and surprise me and I have been exploring the wilderness for over 40 years.
