Republic Day :-
Republic Day is celebrated in India on every 26th day of January. Our constitution came into force on 26 January 1950, though it was approved on 26 November 1949. Since it came into force on 26 Jan 1950, we celebrate republic day in the memory of it.
On this day, India became republic and our very own constitution was given to us. On this day, a Republic Day parade is held in Rajpath, Delhi. Not only parade, but also different States take participation in showing the culture and traditions of their place. Every year, a chief guest is invited to visit Rajpath. Mahatma Gandhi's favourite hymn, 'Abide with me' is played every year on this day in the memory of him.
This day is a national holiday. Though, different functions are held in school which helps students to know about their culture as well as improves their skills. This day is the pride of India as this day shows that we are republic and we have our own largest written constitution in the world.
