We are Indians and our National Flag is very important for us. It is the symbol of unity, honour and freedom. It has three colors. They are saffron, white and green.
The saffron at the top means sacrifice. The white in the middle indicates truth and purity. The green at the lower part stands for energy. The blue wheel in the middle represents Dharma Chakra of King Ashoka. It means peace and progress.

The National Flag of India is a horizontal rectangular tricolour of deep saffron, white and Indian green; with the Ashoka Chakra, a 24-spoke wheel, in navy blue at its centre. It was adopted in its present form during a meeting of the Constituent Assembly held on 22 July 1947, when it became the official flag of the Dominion of India. The flag is based on the Swaraj flag, a flag of the Indian National Congress designed by Pingali Venkayya.
The Indian National Flag represents the hopes and aspirations of the people of India. It is the symbol of our national pride. Over the last five decades, several people including members of armed forces have ungrudgingly laid down their lives to keep the tricolour flying in its full glory.
