, known to be the universal solvent, plays a key role in the survival of various forms of life on earth. It is used for various purposes such as drinking, cleaning, cooking, washing and bathing. Besides these domestic uses, major amount of water is used in the agricultural sector mainly for the purpose of irrigation. A substantial amount of this substance is also used in the industrial sector. However, unfortunately despite being aware about the importance of water in our lives, people around the world are leaving no stone unturned in wasting water and deteriorating its quality. The techniques used for irrigation in many parts of the world including India are old and mundane and often cause immense loss of water. Several industries make use of a good amount of water however they end up throwing their waste in water bodies without realizing that the deterioration of water will ultimately lead to their own loss.

Answer:

I am a Water Saviour

Water conservation or saving water is the practice of using water efficiently to reduce unnecessary water usage. Water conservation is important because fresh clean water is a limited resource, as well as a costly one. Conserving water is using our water supply wisely and be responsible.

I am a water saviour because I understand that mankind, animals, birds and all all life forms need water for survival. The conservation of water helps to save energy, protect wild animals, and prevent people from using so much water that it cannot be replaced with rain. Our body uses water in all its cells, organs, and tissues to help regulate its temperature and maintain other bodily functions. We cannot survive without water.

I am a water saviour because the scarcity of water is a major problem touching every continent and I must do something about it. All causes of water scarcity are related to human interference with the water cycle. including droughts or floods, deforestation, increased pollution, green house gases, and wasteful use of water can cause insufficient supply.

I am a water saviour and I use less water. I avoid mindless wastage of water and recycle used water so that it can be used again.

Water conservation can go a long way to help alleviate these impending effects of water shortages. We can conserve water and prevent wasting of water in the daily activities of our lives.

1. Fix any leak in your toilet, faucets and pipes. You may be wasting many gallons of water due to leakage.

2. Don't waste water by taking long showers. Limit your showers to the time it takes to soap up, wash down and rinse off.

3. Install water-saving shower heads to your shower flow.

4. While brushing your teeth, turn off the tap when not in use. Better still, fill a glass for rinsing your mouth.

5. Turn off the water when not in use while shaving.

6. Like the automatic dishwashing machine, use your washing machine only for full loads only.

7. Water your lawn only when it needs it and not as and when you want to.

8. Position your sprinklers so that water lands on your lawn or garden, not in areas where it does no good.

9. Plant drought-resistant trees and plants. There are many beautiful trees and plants which thrive with less water.

I am a water saviour. We all can be water saviours. Water is a finite resource. If not managed properly it will result in shortages in the future. Let us conserve water for the preservation of human life and all other life forms on Earth.
