Travelling is always source of joy and education. A visit to a historical place is very interesting and informative. Indian is a land of monuments and memorials. The Golden Temple at Amritsar has religious importance. The paintings of Ajanta and Elllora paint the life of the primitive man in pictures. The Taj at Agra is one of the seven wonders of the world. Last year, we, a group of twenty students, went to see this work of art. It is one of the finest buildings in the world. It was a moonlit night. We reached this wonderful place late in the evening. A great many people had left the scene and many more were pouring in. Our guide told us all about the history of the Taj. It is made of white marble. It is a token of his unique love. The Taj has a beautiful gate built of red stone. The river Jamuna flows on one side. There are beautiful gardens and lawns on the other three sides. There are rows of palm and cypress trees.
There are fountains playing in the garden. The Taj stands on a raised platform. Both the main building and the perform are made of white marble. There is a large hall room in the centre of the main building. The tomb lies below. It is decked with precious stone. The Taj is a fine specimen of Indian architecture. It is a dream cast in marble. Its beauty beggars description. It Attracts tourists from all over the world.

India is full of beautiful monuments, old temples and huge forts. But the most famous among all the historical buildings in India is the Taj Mahal. It is a very popular place for tourists, both among Indians and foreigners.
The Taj is situated on the banks of the river Yamuna in the city of Agra. It is made of beautiful white marble and looks almost magical on a full moon night. It was built Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It was built about twenty thousand workers.

I visited the Taj Mahal last year with my parents during the summer vacations. We entered the huge red gateway and saw the beautiful white Taj Mahal some distance away from us. The green, well-kept lawns on both sides of the path leading to the monument also looked very lovely.

There were four spiral minarets on the four corners of the Taj. Beautiful flowers and birds were carved into the white marble. The tombs of Shah Jahan and Mumtaj Mahal were situated in the lower portion.

Many months have passed Since I visited the Taj Mahal, but the beauty of the whole thing is still fresh in my mind. I want to visit it again and again, just as all the visitors to the Taj do.
