The campaign World Environment Day was established in 1972 by the United Nations General Assembly. It is celebrated every year in the month of June on 5th date. It was declared as an annual campaign at the opening of Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment to address the environmental issues in near future.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY !

• World environment day every year celebrated on 5th june. World Environment day is the United Nations for encouraging worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment. For healthy living , environment plays an important role . It provides us air , food , etc. Environment is just like our neighbourhood. Environment day began in 1974, the event has grown to become a global platform for public outreach that is widely celebrated in over 100 countries. World environment day is the "people day" for doing something to take care of the earth. That "something" can be local, national or global.

• World environment day is also known as the Environment Day , Eco Day. Environment is surrounding or conditions in which a person , animal or plants lives. It is necessary to understand the importance of environment and lots of activities are done by the people to preserve and conserve the unique and life nurturing nature. On the World environment day, UN has created a global platform where people can gather and take positive environmental actions.

• USE COMPOSTABLE ITEMS !

→ This is the best way to reduce food waste.

→ It means less trash is sent to the landfill.

→ This includes ditching items made of plastics and use natural replacements of wood, jute etc.

• BUY REUSABLE PRODUCTS !

→ Many have already started this revolution.

→ Reusable grocery bags and water bottles are good way to start with.

→ Menstrual cups instead of sanitary napkins / pads are also in trend to save the environment.

• AVOID DISPOSABLE ITEMS !

→ Disposable items create a mess and somewhere someone will end up cleaning/segregating it.

→ So stop using plastic bags, tiny packages of condiments , plastic cups and straws.

• DONATE OLD ITEMS !

→ When we don't want something, instead of throwing it out why not donate it or give it to less fortunate, or those who don't mind using it.

→ This could be clothes , old furnitures etc.
