I had a silly dream last night. I dreamed that no where in the world was anyone at war. Nowhere were women abused, or children mistreated, or one man treated as if he was inferior to another. Religions were tolerant of one another, realizing at last that all faiths sought the same deity, and that all people wanted to live in peace.

Most of the political parties had been disbanded in favor of one adult, one vote decisions made via each person’s virtual computer, implanted in their wrist at birth. I tell you, it kept us hopping, trying to keep up on all the issues of the day. On the one hand we gained a greater appreciation for the professional politicians of the old days—on the other hand, with nobody paying them for writing legislation with loopholes, not that many bills were written up; and the ones that were, were pretty short and simple.

There were still problems, of course. The hoarding tendencies and the ‘me first, and then my family, and you last’ tendencies don’t disappear in one lifetime. But I believe they will in time. The kids have done the best job of adjusting—well, they’re the ones who insisted on it happening, aren’t they—just as soon as the universal translator was perfected, they were the first ones to snap it up.

The best thing about this whole new world for me personally is that there isn’t any gender bias anymore. There’s still plenty of sexual contact—some die hards thought that would diminish—fat chance, since hormones were left as they were except those that were a real burden for folks, and they got to make that decision themselves. No, the big change was how many people figured out they were actually bisexual, doubling their chances for a date on Saturday night, as the old joke goes. Some folds worried that families might die oit, but they weren’t so much eliminated as they were expanded. And with the perfection of birth control—the beginning of a child had to be a registered joint decision, with a 60 day waiting period, no government interference allowed—there were, literally, no unwanted children anymore.

Like I said, it was a silly dream. A good one, though.

In the present situation of the whole world politics and other circumstances, there is no trace of the world peace.

There are many reasons for this bad situation, the main reason is the economical race between different countries. This competition often cause unhealthy relationship. And due to the present consumer centric society, this economical competition will never end.

That's why world peace is nearly a dream now, just a foolish dream.
