I talked to a friend of mine who survived the Gatlinburg wildfires recently.

She and her two bulldogs got out of their house and were saved but almost all of their neighbors weren’t so lucky. Her neighborhood looks deserted now. Her house for some reason was one of the few still standing and she is thankful.

She owns a small art studio in an Arts Community in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and I went to visit her the other day to bring her doggies some food. She took a huge financial loss (because tourists who come to the Smoky Mountains on vacations have also been more scarce since all of this happened).

I walked in with two big bags of dog food and watched as her two dogs ripped open the bags and began eating like they’d never eaten in their lives!
