In spite of being such an important part of the economy, they are marginalized and impoverished. Their jobs are often considered menial, and meeting the subsistence level of income is difficult for most farmers.
Indian farmers are part of the agriculture-based economy of India. They work on the agriculture field to grow crops. Their livelihood depends upon the income earned from the selling of grains. Their routine includes ploughing, sowing and reaping the crops. Traditionally farmers use bullock carts for ploughing the fields. Nowadays various machineries are used for cultivation.
