Why a girl child is not welcomed?
India gained independence on 1947.Still we are unable to think rationally and we have failed to give independence to a girl child.Even today in certain villages a girl child is not accepted.This is evidently a result of illiteracy prevalent in some parts of our country.They cannot accept a girl child and there are various reasons for them to do so.
They think that boys are the main source of income in the family.So they decide to ignore the girls.Girls too get married at a particular age.So the parents are reluctant to spend money on marriage. Also there is a belief that the girls are unable to carry the title of the family.It is the boys who carry their title.Thus girls are not accepted.This is the major reason.However this is unfair and uncivilized -not to accept a girl child.A girl ultimately gives birth to a baby boy.So a boy cannot be born with a girl.
Some education and efforts of the Government have led to the change in the attitude of the people nowadays.Family planning and control of population are the factors that forced people to change their attitudes.Thus our society is somewhat socially developing towards these problems.
