WHAT IS DIABETES?

Diabetes is a metabolic disease that causes an increase in blood sugar.

When a person suffers from diabetes its body is unable to make enough insulin or can't use effectively the insulin it does make.

The hormone insulin moves sugar from the blood into your cells to be stored or used for energy.

SYMPTOMS EXPERIENCED BY DIABETIC PATIENTS:-

  • Excessive thirst because in order to dilute the blood, the body will actually pull water from cells.
  • Blurred visions as the body will search for fluids to balance blood sugar and one of the places from where the body can pull fluid is the eyes. Resulting in swelling of the lens of the eye and causing blurred vision.
  • Increased urination to flush excess glucose from the blood so that the body can deal with high blood sugar levels.
  • The most common symptom is feeling hunger because the body doesn't get your muscles the energy they need to function.
  • When the body is not getting enough energy that it needs, the person may experience fatigue.

TYPES OF DIABETES

1.AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE:-

About 10%of people with diabetes experience Autoimmune Disease. In this, the immune system attacks the cells in the pancreas where insulin is created, and destroys them. Therefore, people require to take artificial insulin daily in order to stay alive.

2.NO RESPONSE TO INSULIN:-

The body still makes insulin but the cells in the body do not respond to it as effectively to provide energy to the muscles.

3.GESTATIONAL DIABETES:-

Takes form in women during pregnancy when the body may become less to sensitive insulin produced by the body. It mostly resolves after the woman has given birth to the baby.

4.PREDIABETES:-

When the sugar levels are around 100 to 125 milligrams per deciliter it is said to have Prediabetes. It means the blood glucose level is high but not as much to be considered as diabetes.
