Throughout the poem named "In spite of War", Angela Morgan seems to cry and describe about the negative aspects like that of hatred, death, etc and still sense some positiveness.

The poem is intensely sad in tone and it seems that the poet is constantly crying for some optimistic thing out of sadness and  by putting the overall background of world wars in mind, she wrote this poem in such a manner that she wanted to make us feel that life can continue normally despite of terrible things happening.

In-spite of some terrible nightmare, or death, there is still some goodness, some positive aspect left.

She dreams about the dark days when she will come close to death, it is a nightmare and while a whisper comes to her ears to wake up early in the morning and live life which is an ecstacy, feeling and living happy inspite of difficulties, ups and downs.
