Parenchyma

present in cortex and pith of stem

thin cell wall

persence of intercellular spaces

food storage

provide support to plant

sometimes perform photosynthesis, such type of parenchyma tissue is known as chlorenchyma

collenchyma

found in leaf stalk below the epidermis and leaf midribs

cells are elongated and thickened at corner due to deposition of pectin

very little intercellular spaces

provide mechanical support

it allows easy bending

sclerenchyma

it makes plant hard and stiff

it forms protective covering

tissue are dead

cells are long and narrow

cell wall are thickened due to lining

no intercellular spaces
