Parent rocks, really is the one which was helpful in the formation of soil. Without it, then soil won't be formed. the weathering of rocks and also the denudation with the physical, chemical and biological components taking part in the formation of soil.it is found in the 4th layer of the soil profile. When parent rock material is exposed to the atmosphere or when organic matter and/or minerals are deposited on the earth's surface, soil formation begins. Parent rock, also referred to as substratum, refers to the original rock from which something else was formed. It is mainly used in the context of soil formation where the parent rock (or parent material) normally has a large influence on the nature of the resulting soil. So it is important in soil formation.
